Mistletoe
“Honey it’s time to put up the mistletoe” the mother of the house told her husband. The dad of the family went to the closet and pulled me out, you might have guessed by now that I am the mistletoe. Don’t call me mistletoe call me Darling since that is my name. They hung me up where they always did in the door way to the living room. Ah it was so good to be out of the box and out in the clean and air that was full of love. The best part of being put up right there was the parents always invited there guest into the living room using that entrance. I absolutely couldn't wait till tonight guest were coming over and so that meant they were coming into this room I just wanted to scream.
“Almost time” I kept on repeating to myself. Knock- but the door was already opening, I tried to see who it was. As always it was the Shamre’s they always came over on Christmas Eve to help decorate. As they always did they set up the tree first, but the good part I really liked was they set up the tree in the living room which meant kissy kissy under Darling that’s me oh man did I love that part. “Here they come” I thought out loud but how could I keep it in I was so excited. “Look up the owner of the house told the Shamre’s, when they looked up all they could see was me YAY, they started leaning towards each other and bam the dog had came and hit the guy right where it hurts. The guy fell to the floor, making it way more dramatic then he should have. “Oh, come on” I almost yelled “you just ruined the first kiss that I was going to see in 12 months” I yelled at the dog that could hear me and see me.
They finished decorating at 8:30p.m., walked into the kitchen to get all there coffees, came back to the living room through my place and you know what that means they looked up looked at me and started leaning then bam the cat came and jumped on the wife’s shoulders for protection from the dog “ahh” the wife screamed as soon as the cat jumped on her shoulders. “Why you-“ I started to yell but here it came I quickly showed the cat and dog away then waited and watched for them to do it the Ohhh they actually got to kiss at least once in front of me, I could feel the love in the room that day.
Finally the day had come Christmas day YAY. The tree was up the presents were under the tree and all the decorations were put up. “Do you want to hear a secret”? I asked the dog and cat “ yay okay last night I saw Santa Clause with these two eyes” I told now wide eye dog and cat. I heard noises down the hall the owners of this beautiful must be up now I thought to myself and sure enough here came the kids bounding down the hallway like deer with the parents coming down the hallway shortly after.
The kids started ripping open the beautiful wrapping paper that the little elves chose just for them, everybody was happy the dog, cat, the family, all the decorations, Santa and the elves and me.
