Hi
When I was in grade 4 my family and a couple other families went to Guatamala to help at a orphange and help the community. We got to Guatamala by plane and actually got there at 1:00am. Are ride was like a bus but not as long and the last pair of seats were facing each other and instead of the front, that is where all the kids sat. On the way to the orphange we saw a volcano erupting and lava was actually coming out of the volcano.
The place where we stayed was right across the steert from the orphange. This place where we stayed was called viva. There were 4 hamicks a long table we put up for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there were chairs lots of chairs. It was always hot there. One thing that was good and bad was they only had cold water which meant if you wanted a shower it would be cold, sometimes I would go jump into the shower with my clothes on and come out because it felt so good but if you took a shower at night you would want it to be quick. My families room was the only family with our very own bathroomeverybody else had to share a bathroom but of course there was a boy and girl bathrooms.
We did many activities in Guatamala and one of them was going to a prison. There were 900 people in that jail and 500 of them were christians. It was kind a scary to be in prison with mass murders. I met this really cool person in the prison and his name was Danny and he made really cool braclets. Most of the people made things like hamicks and braclets and stuff like that so it's kind a like a farmers market.
This other time I went to a pool with all the orphange kids and it was scary all the kids from the orphange chased me, Riley,Kyle,Courtney and Ellie so we had to run all over the pool and swim all over the pool.
The kids at the orphange had nothing but they were still happy. They really liked it when we went over there to hang out with them.
